  2. WRITING YOUR OWN STORY

    FUUUUUAAAARRRRRRRR~

I just spent like 5 minutes trying to find your post so I could reply. IJ:SODJ:IOSJD:SJD Why cannot reply straight onto the post on the website!? Am I missing something here? Is this message restricted…I bet it is. LOL I unsubs-

Yes, comments are restricted to 250 characters. Anyway, as I was saying, I unsubscribed to someone because I was so angry that I couldn’t find your post to reply to amongst their reblog spam. Feel the loveeeee. Anyway yeah, do you know how to reply if I see your post not on my newsfeed? OMGAH STILL SO ANGRY. CALMMMMMMM.

    Okay :3

“i need to practice putting on eye liner”
Aren’t you jelly of my one eye closing skills <3

    “Get better eye liner”
What’s wrong with the one you have nao?

“tell pam not to make my eyeliner curly”
Okay lol, when I saw the picture I was like ah, maggie needs to learn how to put on eyeliner. In this case, idk why pam doesn’t know how to put on eyeliner. Nuuu don’t listen to George. Eyeliner very sexy lor. (; Also it doesn’t look that bad.
BB cream is not the bestest idea for clubbing. SPF = light reflecting particles = white ghost face during flash photography…except you don’t have it so iono. XD

GOODLUCK FOR YOU EXAM TOMOLO. HOPE YOU DON’T SEE THIS BECAUSE YOU ARE STUDYING!!! <3

  3. I conclude that chair 12 is cursed

…or maybe it was my fault.

Everything was prepped and I was ready to begin. I pick up the high speed handpiece, insert a bur…get ready to drill and oops, I dropped the hand piece. If only it had been that simple. I think a few unfortunate events could have been prevented. Welp, I dropped the hand piece and being the smart person that I am, I was like NUP and went catch it as it fell. Due to my super good reflexes and agility (i.e. luck), I managed to catch it before it fell. Yay, pat on the back. Unfortunately, the bur landed in my palm, ripped my gloves and gave me a fairly deep cut. Well I sort of just sat there and stared at it, wondering if I could continue…and then it started bleeding. I thought it was an uncontaminated sharps injury since the bur was new….but because it went through my contaminated gloves the DA told me it was a contaminated sharps injury and now me and my patient would have to go have blood tests. QQ. My supervisor started my cavity prep whilst I was getting a bandaid and so I managed to finish well on time….but because I had to go have a blood test, my next patient was given to another student.

Anyway, I came back from my blood test, said hi to the second patient and then went off to fill out an incidence report. The other student had taken my chair because his light was broken. About 15 minutes later, another student comes over to me and tells me that my patient is having a bad day. First she didn’t get me as her operator (she has dental anxiety and doesn’t like needles and would maybe have been less nervous if she had someone she knew?). Secondly, the student had given her Bell’s palsy (i.e paralysed half her face) with the LA injection. Apparently her tooth had still been sensitive so they had decided to wait…and ten minutes after the injection she said she couldn’t move her eye….well, they taped that eye shut and sent her off to wait for it to wear off. I’m sure that experience was a nice one to add to her dental phobia.

In conclusion, chair 12 is cursed.

  4. Things I’ve learnt from Clinic in no particular order

    1. When there is a massive carious lesion….don’t blow air at it…unless you don’t like the patient…

    2. Patients like to be told that they are doing a good job with brushing.

    3. Patients also like hearing about all the misfortunes you’ve had e.g. flicking plaque onto your forehead when flossing someone with tight contacts.

    4. When you take a PVS secondary impression for an RPD, don’t forget to ask the patient to lift their tongue.

    5. Seriously, don’t ask someone how many restorations they’ve done in front of the patient @.@

    6. There’s no need to push hard when giving a needle…unless you want to split the needle tip

    7. Make sure the LA is going into the tissues and not the back of the patients throat.

    8. If patient feels an abundance of pain from needles, get the supervisor to induce the torture.

    9. The patient most likely needs a pee break sometime in the last 1.5hr of your 3hr appointment.

    10. Save yourself some stress and don’t listen when the supervisor tells you you can do 2 restorations in 1.5hrs.

  5. Whyyyyyy sandwich artist, whyyyyyy?????

  6. The Groove Train

    Friday 19th April 2013

I tried Groove train a long time before and didn’t like it. We had a Pollo pizza and the chicken was dry and bland. Anyway, came back here again for a post exam/ birthday celebration with dent peoples and mmmm wasn’t amazed or anything. Also, not a great place to chat for dinner as the live music was fairly loud.

Teh foods! All photos courtesy of noob’s galaxy s2.

    Chicken Parmagiana

    Grooves Steak Sandwich

    Moroccan Lamb

    Chicken Calzone

    King Prawn and Calamari Risotto

    Chicken Risotto

Warm Lamb and Cous Cous Salad

    Prosciutto Pizza

I was going to write a description for each but everything was pretty much average?…and I was really hungry that day so….if anything, I should be bias towards liking the food. Dishes are all around $20. Will most likely never eat here again unless I have to…LOL.

  7. Harveys Bar and Bistro

    Sunday 7th April 2013

Had breakfast with food buddy. I think it’s a good idea to decide what to eat beforehand…you’re able to research (esp if you don’t know all the fancy words on the menu) and you also don’t spend ages contemplating what to eat while your stomach growls.

    Food pictures x)

My friend’s Ricotta-buttermilk pikelets with caramelized banana and honeycomb butter - with smoked bacon

    image

Tried a bit and liked it more than pancake…but don’t think I could eat all that LOL.

My dish… Potato and feta roesti, creamed sweet corn, poached egg and herb salsa

    image

I liked all the different flavours but felt like I was missing bread xD And..to me, this was just bacon, eggs, hash brown and corn? Still yummy though x)

Shared dish: Spiced mince in a flour tortilla, poached egg, avocado and sour cream

    image

This was my least favourite although, by the time I got to it I was already quite full. It tasted like a mexican taco? Strange choice for breakfast xD

Ooooh their jasmine green tea smells amazing.

All in all, it was a nice breakfast but definitely not student priced…and two dishes would have been enough xP Oh also, they had Aesop handwash and moisturiser in the bathroom which was like whoaaa…fancy (moisturiser is very good though). That stuff is 130 dollars…@.@

  8. ISO E SUPER

I recently came across a perfume known as Molecule 01. Apparently it smells different on each person and is a very attractive scent. After a heap of googling to see peoples reactions, I decided I wanted it. LOL….then I found out it costs approx. $200. Yahhh nvm. A bit more poking around and I discovered that Molecule 01 was in fact very literal in the sense that the scent is derived from just one molecule: iso E super otherwise known as 7-acetyl, 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8-octahydro-1,1,6,7-tetramethyl naphthalene. This iso E super could be purchased for $6 for 15mL and mixed with perfumers alcohol to make…Molecule 01. Okay well, apparently the molecules comes in different grades etc etc…but come on…$200. So despite absolutely hating musky, woody scents, I still wanted to try it. Off I went to Mecca cosmetics to try the real ($200) thing. Turns out I dislike the the smell. LOL. Well that was a waste of time (:

  9. Midsem break and exams

Where have I beeeeeeeeen? Studying, that’s what. Such is the life of a uni student…but as my friend likes to remind me, I should savour it while I’ve still got it. I can’t say that this year I am super busy seeing as every second week I get a 4 day long weekend hehehe x)….but I can’t say that I’ve got it chill either. Seven subjects means seven end of semester exams.

So on my holiday I was pretty much either at work or at home studying. I had an assignment, a VIVA and a MCQ in the first two weeks back. I did pop out for breakfast on Sunday morning but that was after being satisfied that I could do the assignment.

Turns out the assignment is worth probably not even 2% of our whole grade…but could not turn off natural frenzy to try and do well. I can’t be bothered explaining the assignment but the professor said it had to be 4 A4 pages handwritten so that if we did cheat and copy each other, at least we would learn by writing it out. I spent a good few hours trying to cut down my word count and in the end when I wrote it up, I was left with massive blanks. ):

Viva was next and I studied pretty thoroughly for it. In first year my VIVA went terribly as I couldn’t name the teeth properly and I blanked and forgot the name of a spoon excavator and ended up just passing the exam. Two years later…hmm I can’t say I’ve improved at all in the presentation department because I realised I was unconsciously saying “ummmm” between every few words….and I was staring at the space between the two examiners the whole time…T———T There were still things I couldn’t answer but I’m fairly sure I passed much more comfortably this time.

MCQ. Do you believe me if I say that the MCQ was super hard? One of our lecturers is really good at making super hard MCQs. We had to pick the best answer (ie there could possibly be more than one correct answer but we had to choose the most correct) and sometimes the options would be A)… B)… C)… D) a and B…E) a and c….and it messes with your head ): During the exam, we had rules like, no squinting, no looking at the clock, no putting your hand near your face or INSTANT FAIL. Also if we wanted to change our answers we had to put our hand up and get it signed off and we were only allowed to change each question once. As a result, I spent a good 20 minutes hunched over with back pain, unable to sit up in case I looked like I was cheating and I stuck with whatever answer I put first because I couldn’t be bothered changing. I really have absolutely no idea I did for that exam…hopefully a pass….

  10. Zuri Bar and Dining

    Friday 22nd March 2013

For Sophia and Rebecca’s joint birthday, we headed off to Fortitude Valley’s Zuri to celebrate. Rebecca thought it was more like a restaurant but alas, we had a coffee table, a few sofas and some chairs and there weren’t enough to seat us all. We did eventually get moved to a private area which was super spacious…but we ended up squishing altogether anyway xD Group Photo!

All the pictures are terrible because the lighting was very dim and we used phones. For some reason iPhone with flash just came out with a super white image. ): Samsung Galaxy worked though D=

I had to majorly edit this picture to get it to look somewhat normal…damn iphone, you have failed me!

The atmosphere there was nice and chill, being so dark and all, but it was difficult to chat because the music was loud. Zuri is a “lounge bar” and offers asian food…very very overpriced asian food…or maybe I’m just not used to clubbing and the associated expenses. @.@” The cheapest thing was $7 for…3 or 4 gyoza…=/ Yahhh I ended up just having a lemon lime and bitters drink and scabbing a chicken ball off Choi. The sushi there is below average and once again, way overpriced. On Wednesdays and Thursdays they have all you can eat sushi and tapas respectively which is much more worth it…but who goes clubbing on Wednesday and Thursday nights…

    Loners (:
